What Micro-D is
Micro-D is a microminiature rectangular connector whose contacts are arranged on .050 inch (1.27 mm) centers. The U.S. military specification MIL-DTL-83513 (M83513) defines the family, and Amphenol designs this product group as a miniature interconnect that goes beyond the specification's requirements.
Amphenol Canada does not stop at M83513 rectangular connectors — it develops and manufactures circular, stripline, and PCB connectors in the same family, along with hybrid connectors that mix power, signal, coaxial, and optical contacts.
The product families are divided by shell material. The metal-shell 100 series, the all-plastic 102 series, and the stainless 104 series share identical dimensions and mate with each other; beyond those there are the 105 strip, the 106 high-density card, and the M13 filter families.

Only size 69 is non-military; the rest are all M83513 specification arrangements. Hybrid arrangements such as five contacts plus two coaxial or power contacts (7W2 · 7C2) are also available separately.

Within one termination the number splits again by pin (plug) or socket (receptacle) and by shell size — for solder cup, /01 is the plug and /02 the receptacle. The C16 configuration, which adds a flange to C6, is an Amphenol style outside the specification sheet.
The terminations ADMTEC has actually supplied are solder cup (/02), crimp wire (/03 · /04), narrow 90° PCB (/10 · /11), and straight PCB C6 (/29). Shell sizes 15 · 25 · 51 and shell finishes in electroless nickel and passivated stainless are in that record. The remaining sheets in the table are supplied on the same authorized basis.

Metal shell finishes are chosen from anodize, cadmium, gold, iridite/alodine, electroless nickel, and tin (anodize and iridite are excluded on die cast parts). The insulator is PPS to MIL-M-24519 type GST-40F, and the hardware is passivated stainless.
Solder cup terminations carry no wire code, so they end as M83513/02-GN. In Amphenol's internal numbering these correspond to 100RN51S-4E1AB and 100RN51S-B respectively, and we will confirm the part from either number.

Frequently Asked Questions
My drawing only says M83513/04-G01N — what part is that?
A crimp (wire) terminated receptacle, 51 contacts, M22759/11 26 AWG wire at 18 inches, with an electroless nickel shell. /04 sets the termination type and the socket gender, G sets the contact count of 51, 01 sets the wire specification and length, and N sets the shell finish. Even a partial number is enough for us to confirm the rest.
Should I choose a metal shell or a plastic shell?
The metal-shell 100 series (aluminum 6061-T6), the stainless 104 series, and the all-plastic 102 series are designed to identical dimensions and mate with each other, so the shell material can be changed without changing the connector on the other side. Note that plastic shells do not include an interfacial seal — tell us if sealing is required.
Can it be used for space and satellite applications?
The catalog names this precision stamped and formed contact as the preferred contact for space and satellite applications, and specifies thermal vacuum outgassing beyond the SP-R-0022 or ASTM E595 criteria (TML 1.0% · VCM 0.1%). Why is size 69 marked differently from the other sizes?
9 · 15 · 21 · 25 · 31 · 37 · 51 · 100 are M83513 specification arrangements, but 69 alone is non-military. If the drawing requires compliance with the military specification, this has to be confirmed before proceeding.
